The dates have been booked and now all you need to do is confirm that you're coming!
ROOM RATES: Pickett's Landing offers fully equipped condo's -- either 3 bedroom or 4 bedroom. The 3 BR units have been discounted to $195.00 per night. Plus a $100 cleaning fee.
The 4 BR units have been discounted to $240.00 per night. Plus a $125 cleaning fee.
Most of the units have a master BR with king bed, and the other BR's have 2 twin beds, so if you have a group of 'buddies' you can easily get 4, 5, or 6 folks in a unit, making the cost per night very reasonable. When you rent a condo unit, it also includes dock space. When you call to make your reservation, you can get the particulars on the layout of the condo unit and exactly how many beds are in the unit.
The Moorings Marina & Hotel is just a couple blocks down the street, and they have condo units and individual hotel rooms. They also have dock space.
TWO days of Fishing!!!!! Friday June 10 and Saturday June 11. Of course, you can come earlier or stay later too.
CAPTAIN'S MEETING - Friday June 10th -- 8:00pm Pickett's Landing Clubhouse area. We picked 8:00pm to give everyone a chance to get into town, and also to have a chance to grab some supper before the meeting.
DOCK SPACE - Pickett's Landing has its own private dock with room for about 6 to 8 extra boats. There is plenty of room on the property for trailer storage. If you are staying at Pickett's Landing, docking is included with the room rate.
BOAT RAMPS - There is a relatively new public launch area at the city park in downtown Carrabelle, or you can launch at The Moorings Marina & Hotel (there may be a small fee to use their ramp). The Moorings has plenty of transient slip space (approx. $1 per foot per night).
SATURDAY NIGHT THROWDOWN - After the fishing on Saturday, we will have a dinner catered for the participants -- either a Low Country Boil with all the fixin's or a Fish Fry. We'll also have some prizes to hand out and a fun evening to reconnect with each other again.
The Nuts & Bolts Gang will be heading down on Thursday June 9th, and staying through at least Sunday June 12th.
FISHING - This time of year all the offshore species should be ready to play, as well as nearshore gamefish like Spanish Mackerel, Cobia and others. Inshore, the trout and redfish should be good targets in the bay and in the pass that runs behind St. George Island.
You will need a current Florida saltwater fishing license.
The Pressure Drop can accommodate up to 8 people. Capt. K has graciously offered the Drop at a reduced rate for this event. It's a first-come, first-served deal, and the cost per person will be split equally based on the number of people fishing on the boat. We also have the Carrabelle Charters Panga which can take an additional 3 or 4 people, with the same rate deal as the Pressure Drop. And there will be a number of folks dragging boats down too... so there should be plenty of room for everyone to get on board a boat and do some fishing. If you catch a ride on a Weekend Warrior boat, then it is only fair for the passengers to share in the fuel expenses.
What kind of boat is sufficient for the Carrabelle area? If you are fishing inshore or nearshore, and the weather is cooperating... a bass boat is just fine. Center console bay boats work well in these waters. If you are venturing offshore, a deep vee hull is recommended, but on a calm day, you can easily run to grouper waters in a smaller boat (20' to 25'). It is strongly recommended that you carry a chart of the area, a good depth finder, a functioning VHF radio and all your required safety gear (which includes FLARES).
If you are dragging a boat down, and have room for one or more extra passengers, please post it here and also let me know so we can get folks rides if they need them.
So put the dates on your calendars, book your rooms NOW, and fill out the Registration Form and send it in to me at Cefus@NutsAndBoltsFishing.com
More to come...!!!
