This guy was towing his kids with a 36' YellowFin that had three 300's on the back of it and the fitting on the inflateable raft where the rope is tied to pulled off the raft!
POW,,,,,the rope and the fitting hit the starbord engine cowling and put a big crack in it.

Your right Coach.
The paint they put on it from the factory is no where as good as the base coat/clear coat I put on it. I apply four coats of base and 3 coats of high solids clear
I also offer a lifetime warranty on all my work.......

Crack filler.......................Ha-Ha-Ha.
I used epoxy resin with matting on the inside, and a special filler thats made for SMC on the outside.
Remember,,,regular polyester fiberglass resins and polyester fillers (bondo) will NOT adhere to SMC! (Sheet Molded Compound)
You also have to be careful with the filler primers that you use.

Cool, we know a certified crack filler! Nice work Capt. Rick.
Question, I moved my under gunnell rod rack back 12" (because whoever put them where they were should be smacked) and now have 3 - 1/4" holes on each side of the boat. Well, I'm bad about over thinking and at times over engineering things that usually result in a great job that only cost me 4 times what it should have. My initial plan is to fill the holes most of the way with the Locktite marine white epoxy then apply gelcoat over the remaining portion followed by several light sandings and buffing to a shine.
Am I on the right track? Will Gelcoat adhere to the epoxy mix?

Ill admit, Im no expert when it comes to Gelcoat, but If I was to repair it I would use regular fiberglass resin instead of epoxy.
Im sure the gelcoat would be more compatable with the polyester resin than the epoxy.
The "West System Epoxy" web site has a lot of information about epoxy, you might wanna snoop around over there and see what you can find out.
