Registration is Now Open

The 2018 Fall Fish 'N Fest is officially on the schedule and will be held in Port St. Joe, Florida...October 25 - 28.  So start making your plans for this fantastic fall event on Florida's Gulf Coast.

If you've never attended one, here's some information about our weekend of Fishing, Food and Fun.

Fish 'N Fest events are not fishing tournaments.  Instead, they present an opportunity to explore the fishing, the cuisine, and the hospitality and amenities of a fun and fishy coastal destination.   Except for the costs of the banquet evenings and charter guides (if you use one) there are no entry fees to participate.   And you don't need to own a boat to experience some great days on the water.  We will arrange local charter guides to take you out, at a very reasonable cost.

In case you're curious about just how much fun these events are...check out the Fish 'N Fest TV episodes from previous years.  We can't possibly pack all the fun in 30 minutes, but after watching these shows, we're convinced you won't want to miss out.  You don't have to own a boat, or ever fished saltwater to have a big time at a Fish 'N Fest.   And be sure to sign up for the Nuts & Bolts e-Newsletter to stay updated for all the Fish 'N Fest details.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

There are several options for overnight accommodations in Port St. Joe.  Our off-the-water headquarters will be the Port Inn and Port Inn Cottages on Hiway 98 in Port St. Joe.

They have cozy, traditional hotel rooms and also 2-bedroom cottages.  The Thirsty Goat lounge, adjacent to the hotel, offers cold beverages in a comfortable atmosphere.  And the outdoor deck is a great place to relax and listen to live music on the weekends.   We have a group rate at the Port Inn.   Mention the Nuts & Bolts Fish 'N Fest when you call to make your reservations at 866-825-7175.

Another great place to stay, just down the road is the Mainstay Suites.  They offer king or queen suites and each has a refrigerator and oven.  Each morning, they have a free continental breakfast.   It's also on Hiway 98 just a couple miles east of downtown PSJ.   We have a discounted rate here as well, so mention you are attending the Nuts & Bolts Fish 'N Fest when you call them at 855-516-1090.

Fishing:  Fall is a fantastic time of year to fish the St. Joe Bay and the nearshore waters from Cape San Blas to Mexico Beach.  You'll find a cornucopia of piscatorial pulchritude within easy reach of small bay boats.  And if you choose to venture offshore, you can target grouper, snapper, mackerel, jacks and more.  Fish 'N Fest events are not fishing tournaments.  There's no fee to participate as an angler, and potentially be crowned the Inshore or Offshore Kahuna of Fall 2018.

As with all our Fish 'N Fest events, you do not need to own a boat to participate.  We arrange fishing options with local charter captains for folks who would prefer to fish with a local pro.  You pay for your inshore or offshore fishing at our Fishing Payment Portal, and you'll be set to go.  The captains provide everything you need, including your fishing license, for a fun day on the water.  Just bring what you want to eat and drink.

We will be offering an Offshore Fishing Day on Friday aboard the Fish'n Xpress out of Port St. Joe Marina.  We have chartered the entire boat for the day, and will keep the total anglers to less than their normal capacity, giving everyone lots of room for fishing.  Capt. Bill Little has always provided a fun-filled adventure offshore, and we'll be targeting whatever denizens of the deep happen to be in season at the time.   A fantastic offshore adventure on Friday is $200 per angler.

Inshore Charter Fishing will be available on both Friday and Saturday.  And each boat will accommodate four anglers.  Speckled trout, redfish, jacks, flounder and more will be on the menu for shallow water anglers fishing St. Joe Bay and the nearshore waters down to Mexico Beach.   Inshore charter fishing is $160 per angler per day.

Of course, if you bring your own boat, you can launch at the PSJ City Launch.  There is a small fee to launch.  If you choose, you can get transient slip space at Port St. Joe Marina by calling (850) 227-9393.   There will be a weigh-in at PSJ Marina Friday and Saturday afternoon from 3 - 5pm, if you choose to enter a fish for the Kahuna Awards.

Nighttime Events:  Although these events revolve around fishing, we have a lot of fun off the water as well.  Thursday evening we have our Welcome Banquet to re-connect with old friends and make new ones as well.  The festivities begin at 6:30pm on the deck of Dockside Restaurant at PSJ Marina.  To kick things off, we'll have a LowCountry Boil for dinner.  You'll have an opportunity to meet Port St. Joe's charter guides and get contemporary intel on where to fish and how to catch 'em.  And some lucky individual will walk away with a custom made fishing rod, courtesy of American Tackle Co. and Coach's Custom Rods.   We'll also have lots of other cool prizes to give away as well.

Friday night, you're free to explore the area's local cuisine and amenities.

And Saturday night we'll wrap up the weekend with the Celebration Banquet on the lawn at the Port Inn.  Social hour starts at 6:30pm, with the program beginning at 7:00pm and dinner following at 7:30pm.   The banquet fee for both nighttime events is $95.  That gets you admission to both evening events.  Saturday night, we'll crown the Inshore and Offshore Kahuna's, present the First to Chum Award, and someone will walk away with a Free Ride to the next Fish 'N Fest in Spring 2019.

This will be an awesome weekend of Fishing, Food and Fun in Port St. Joe.   So download the Registration Form and send it in, pay for your Banquet Fees and Charter Fishing (if you're not bringing a boat), make your room reservations and get ready to have a big time on the Gulf of Mexico!  We'll see you there!
