Presents

Spring 2017 Fish 'N Fest - St. Augustine, Florida!

WE HAVE SOLD OUT!  REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.  STAY TUNED FOR LOCATION AND DATE FOR THE 2017 FALL FISH 'N FEST.

Come join the Nuts & Bolts Gang for a weekend of Fishing...Food...and Fun in the oldest city in the US!

If you've never visited St. Augustine or the other coastal towns along Florida's Historic Coast, you're in for a real treat!  And if you're already familiar with the area, you know why this is such a popular destination.  In fact, there's so much to do, I am strongly recommending you come a few days early, or stay a few days after the Fish 'N Fest to really experience what St. Augustine has to offer.  For an overview of the attractions, arts, history and tours to take inn while you're there, go to  FloridasHistoricCoast.com
The waters around St. Augustine offer an abundance of fishing opportunities, and June is the month to be there.   There's a cornucopia of piscatorial prizes both inshore and offshore.   And what's even better is the offshore critters can be as close as nine miles. That means folks in bay boats have the potential to do the dance with cobia, king mackerel, and maybe even sailfish and mahi-mahi.  Inshore...this is the perfect time to go one-on-one with monster redfish, gator trout and doormat flounder.  Tarpon could still be hanging around too.

In case you're curious about just how much fun these events are...check out the Fish 'N Fest TV episodes from previous years.  We can't possibly pack all the fun in 30 minutes, but after watching these shows, we're convinced you won't want to miss out.  You don't have to own a boat, or ever fished saltwater to have a big time at a Fish 'N Fest.   And be sure to sign up for the Nuts & Bolts e-Newsletter to stay updated on the Spring Fish 'N Fest!

 REGISTRATION:

REGISTRATION FOR THE 2017 SPRING EVENT IS CLOSED.   Stay in touch for the announcement of location and dates for the 2017 FALL FISH 'N FEST.

If you have already signed up, that's great!  Hopefully you downloaded and emailed your Registration Form in.   If not, please do that now.   This lets us know how many people are coming, where you'll be staying (so we can keep track of the room blocks), and whether you will be fishing with a charter captain or bringing your own boat.  You are also required to pay for charter fishing and evening banquets via our payment portals so we have an accurate head count for the caterers and charter guides.  Once you've filled out the form, email it to Cefus@NutsAndBoltsFishing.com

Your banquet fees include admission to both nighttime events, a ticket in the drawing for a Free Ride to the Fall 2017 Fish 'N Fest, and a Bag Lunch each day.

 ACCOMMODATIONS OPTIONS:

There are lots of accommodations options in St. Augustine...the historic downtown area, St. Augustine Beach, and places a little more off the beaten path.  We have selected three properties who are offering special rates for the Fish 'N Fest below.   You are not required to stay at any of these, but you'll find the rates and the locations are excellent with these partners.

NOTE: Because this event is in the height of the tourist season, our room blocks will not last long.  Some expire the 1st week of April.  So book your rooms now!

Holiday Isle is offering exceptional room rates for an in-season, oceanfront property, starting at $139.00 per night.  They have parking available for boat trailers on site.  We will have the On-Site Sign-in here, and our Opening Night Welcome Banquet will be beside the pool.  We have a limited number of rooms in the block, so make your reservations now.  Book your room by calling 800-626-7263 and tell them you are booking in the Nuts & Bolts Fish 'N Fest block.

FISHING IN ST. AUGUSTINE

As we have done in the past, we have made arrangements with local charter guides for folks who do not have a boat, or elect not to bring their own boat.

For those who do bring your own boat, we will have St. Augustine's finest charter guides available at the Thursday night Welcome Banquet to provide their insight on where to go and what to use for fishing in the area.

Oldest City Bait & Tackle on A1A  in St. Augustine Beach is the official tackle store for this Fish 'N Fest.  They have live and frozen bait, along with a huge array of everything you need to catch the big ones.

Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor is the Official Marina for the 2017 Fish 'N Fest.  The public boat launch is just across the highway, and attendees can leave their trailers at the launch overnight...just be sure the ball hitch is locked  :)   To book a slip at the Marina call the Harbormaster at 904-829-5676. Slip rates are $1.95 per foot per night and include water and power.

INSHORE FISHING:  Spring is the time to be on the water in St. Augustine!  Inshore backcountry fishing is spectacular with big seatrout, redfish, flounder, Spanish mackerel and more roaming the estuaries and channels.  It's also an awesome time to make the short run offshore (weather permitting) to troll for King mackerel, bonito, dolphin, and cobia.  Our select group of local captains offer comfortable bay boats that can accommodate four anglers per boat and they will have everything you need for the day.  All you have to do is bring what you want to eat and be prepared for a fun day on the water.  Each angler will receive a Bag Lunch each morning prior to boarding.   Charter rates are based on 4 people per inshore boat, with a per person charge of $160. which includes boat, guide, tackle, fuel, bait and ice.  If you want a boat to yourself, or want to fish with specific buddies, that's fine, but you will pay the entire day rate for the boat.

Fishing fees are non-refundable, unless the captain cancels the trip due to weather.   We WILL fish in the rain (not a thunderstorm), or if it is windy or chilly.  The captain will make the call regarding "Go" or "No-Go"

Friday and Saturday mornings, we will gather at Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor Marina at 7:30am to film the opening for a Nuts & Bolts of Fishing TV epidose.  The charter boats will depart at 8:00am and have you back to the docks around 3pm.  Weigh-in for the Kahuna Awards will be at the dock from 3pm - 5pm.

EVENING FESTIVITIES:

Fish 'N Fest events are not tournaments. There's no attendance fee to participate in the Nuts & Bolts Fish 'N Fest.  The only charges we collect are for Charter Fishing and for our Nighttime Banquets.  If you bring your own boat, you only pay for the Banquets.

Thursday Night June 8:   5:00pm Social Hour begins poolside at Holiday Isle Oceanfront Resort in St. Augustine Beach.  We have to start early due to local ordinances regarding lights and noise for the sea turtles on the beach.  The program starts at 6:00pm with dinner at 7:00 and BBQ Bill will be serving up his delicacies straight from the smoker!   We will have a drawing for two Nuts & Bolts Edition Bushido Rods handcrafted by Coach's Custom Rods and lots more cool prizes. During cocktail hour, you'll have the opportunity to make new friends and meet the local captains.  The captains will provide up to date info on where the fish are at and what they're biting.   Cocktail hour at the Tiki Bar starts at 5:00pm.  The program begins at 6:00pm and dinner follows at 7:00pm

Friday Night June 9:  You're on your own to explore St. Augustine's amenities, watering holes and restaurants.

Saturday Night June 10:  Our Celebration Banquet will be adjacent to Camachee Marina. The exact location is still being decided.  But suffice to say, it will be within walking distance from the marina docks.  Cocktails begin at 6:00pm.  The dinner and presentation starts at 7:00pm.   We'll crown the  Inshore and Offshore Kahunas and present them with custom made one-of-a-kind works of art.   Plus we'll hand out  the famous "First to Chum" Award and a $100 Spending Spree from Project X Tackle, and more.   And, of course we'll draw a winner for a Fish 'N Fest Free Ride to the Fall 2017 Fish 'N Fest.
